The Blue Lobster Dunk is the older version of last year’s claw clamping Dunk Low and is about to be unveiled at Concepts, this Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 11:00 am. Remember the first ‘Lobster’ was shipped and promoted by the ‘Concepts Fishing Company,’ with a poster, lobster claw rubber band, tee shirt and condiment box with all sorts of goodies. The Blue Lobster Nike SB will be bagged and sealed in a HAZMAT foam container containing an official Nike SB tee shirt, hang tag and lace lock. The first 200 pairs will also come with one of two Concepts x Alien Workshop skate decks, sweet! After the launch Concepts will host the Official Blue Lobster Party, featuring a number of special guests and performers including DJ Statik Selektah, Termanology and Masspike Miles. The ‘Brew Live Cruise’ will take place on board the MV Freedom, docked at Rowes Wharf in Boston, MA. Boarding begins at 8:00 pm and the vessel leaves at 9:00 PM. Here is a look at this years most creative Munny doll at LIFT’s annual summer Munny Contest. The Munny on top was done by Monster Decay and won most creative Munny. The Munnies on the botton, done by FAS, are my favorites. Monster Decay’s Munny stands at about 30″! FAS’s Munny dolls represent a good use of bright acrylics and splatter techniques. Overall the show was a good success. Many Munnies were sold and there were some artists representing from all over. For more details visit Munny Detroit.

The only designer toy gallery around metro Detroit is Lift! So everyone is aware Lift has moved their gallery to 228 W. 4th Street Royal Oak, MI. This is where Lift will be hosting their 4th MUNNY art exhibit. The exhibit will feature over 40 local artisits along with national and international artists showcasing their amazing skills. The show starts August 9th at 7:00 PM and goes unitl 11:00 PM. Admission to the show is free and all ages are welcome but I don’t recommend bringing your toddler! The reimagining of the iconic Darth Vader helmet by some of today’s most talented unerground artists, will be on display July 19-21, 2008 at Star Wars Celebration Japan. This is a landmark event being held just outside Tokyo to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars. The Vader Project originally premiered at Star Wars Celebration IV in Los Angeles in May 2007. From there it traveled to Star Wars Celebration Europe in London in June 2007. July 2007 brought 10 new helmets to the Star Wars Pavilion at the famed San Diego Comic -Con on International . The Project’s exhibit at Star Wars Celebration Japan marks the first time the collection will be on display in Asia. The helmets will be offered publicly at auction. For more information visit here.
